Shop of the Crafter's drop front Desk with leaded glass doors and custom wooden pulls. Oscar Onken, Cincinnati, Ohio.1904. Known for their unique designs, many featuring beautiful inlays. Features remarkable quarter sawed oak select grain figure throughout. It was refinished years ago by a previous owner, we are initially offering it in this condition at a discount. As you can see from the dust around the reticulated escutcheon, we have not cleaned and waxed the desk yet. The finish is lighter than the typical Crafter's stain but it was well done and some prefer a lighter color. If it doesn't sell in this condition we will refinish it again and adjust the price. The label was likely removed during the finishing so the desk is unmarked. We have included an image of their shopmark and of the desk in the firms catalogue. The desk is in otherwise very good condition.
